Environmental Risks, you ask?

Home buyers are seeking information on environmental risks nearby.

Buyers nationwide are already seeking information about crime, the neighborhood and local schools.  Consumers just have an insatiable appetite for more and more information at the time they’re buying a home,” says Robert Barber, CEO of Environmental Data Resources. “We started seeing an enormous spike in requests for information.” Barber says that at least 10 states in the last year have introduced new laws that require home sellers to disclose some environmental data to buyers, such as immediate proximity to a hazardous waste site, or a former gas station or dry cleaner.

Barber says the reports are based on searches of federal, state and local databases that list environmental hazards located within 300 feet of a residential property. More than 90% of the time the reports provide good news: no environmental hazards nearby.  “We anticipate it’s just a matter of time before environmental information is part of every residential property transaction in the country,” he says.

Peace of Mind - for only $129!

Developed exclusively for home buyers and sellers, our EDR Neighborhood Environmental Report™ identifies potential environmental risks such as leaking underground tanks, landfills, meth labs and toxic waste sites on or near a property that may threaten your family’s health or the value of your investment.

Developed by Environmental Data Resources, Inc. (EDR), the leading national provider of environmental risk information, this comprehensive, easy to read report is being offered to meet the growing demand for pre-purchase information for real estate agents, loan brokers, real estate professionals, and home-buyers and sellers in the U.S.  These reports are generated from the largest collection of local, state, federal and proprietary environmental records in the U.S. and provide important information on known and potential contamination that exists on or in the vicinity of a property.

Would you like a

Neighborhood Environmental Report

with your home inspection?

Our Report checks for any environmental issues on or near the property that may be cause for concern.

We investigate your property’s proximity to concerns such as:

Ø      Leaking Underground Storage Tanks

Ø      Landfills

Ø      Hazardous Waste and Farm Chemical Runoff Sites

Ø      “Superfund” sites *

Ø      Department of Defense Sites

Ø      “Meth Labs”

Producing a report on the property can help you make more informed decisions about the home you are considering.

In the majority of cases, it will not find significant issues that would keep you from purchasing the home.

What it will do is help you to be aware of the condition of the property and its surroundings and leave you secure in knowing that your investment - and your family - are protected.

The $129 report is a small price to pay for the peace of mind you will receive!

*  “Superfund” sites are contaminated sites that are the EPA’s “worst of the worst” and are designated as a priority for clean up
